Me+You Productions is an award-winning UK based independent film and television production company founded by BAFTA winning filmmakers Richard Yee and Krishnendu Majumdar. They develop and produce high end cinematic, authored drama and comedy with the very best writing, acting and directing talent, focussing on distinctive and bold stories for UK and international audiences.

Their most recent work, I AM RUTH, stars Kate Winslet in a feature-length episode of series 3 of the critically acclaimed drama series I AM for Channel 4. The film won two BAFTA awards for Single Drama and Lead Actress for Kate Winslet, as well as winning the Royal Television Society award and Edinburgh TV awards for Lead Actress. ALICE & JACK is a 6-part drama series starring Andrea Riseborough and Domhnall Gleeson, directed by Juho Kuosmanen and written by Vic Levin for Fremantle that will broadcast Channel 4 and Masterpiece in early 2024. Their latest feature film CLOSE TO YOU directed by Dominic Savage and starring Academy-Award nominee Elliot Page world premiered as part of the Special Presentations at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2023.

Me+You’s award-winning drama series I AM… for Channel 4 written and directed by Dominic Savage, starred Samantha Morton, Gemma Chan and Vicky McClure. The BAFTA Nominated second series, starred Suranne Jones, Letitia Wright and Lesley Manville. They produced a feature documentary END TO END (Amazon) starring George Ezra and two series of the critically acclaimed 6-part scripted comedy drama series SICK OF IT, written by Karl Pilkington and Richard Yee for Sky One.

Me+You’s other output includes two series of International Emmy-winning comedy HOFF THE RECORD (starring David Hasselhoff + Asim Chaudhry) for UKTV / Netflix, (sold to 199 territories) and two series of THE MOANING OF LIFE (Grierson shortlisted and Broadcast Award-nominated, sold to 189 territories) and they also co-created the BAFTA nominated genre defining global smash hit AN IDIOT ABROAD starring Karl Pilkington, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant (which sold to 210 territories).

Their work has won two BAFTAs, three Royal Television Society awards, an International EMMY award, a C21 International drama award, a MIND Media award and a WFTV award in addition to being nominated for 6 BAFTAs, an NTA award, 5 RTS awards and multiple Broadcast Awards.

DIVERSITY

Diversity is in the DNA of Me+You: the company is owned and led by two people of colour. Krish has Indian (Bengali) heritage entwined with a Welsh upbringing. Richard has Chinese heritage and was born in Scotland. Krish was the Chairman of BAFTA 2020-23 and led a reappraisal of the culture and values of the Academy. Seismic changes include the ground-breaking BAFTA 2020 Review which included 120 changes to membership, campaigning, and voting to address a lack of diversity in the awards and the industry. Krishnendu Majumdar

Krish is a BAFTA and EMMY winning Producer and Director who has worked in the industry for 20 years. He started in television working for ITN as a journalist before making hard hitting documentaries and current affairs shows including the BAFTA nominated WHO YOU CALLIN’ A NIGGER? Krish co-created the BAFTA nominated AN IDIOT ABROAD, the International EMMY winning comedy HOFF THE RECORD and produced the BAFTA-winning drama series I AM. Krish is the former Chairman of BAFTA making him the youngest in 35 years and first person of colour to hold the position in it’s 73-year history and has a long history of leading on diversity issues across the Industry for BAFTA, PACT and Directors UK.

RICHARD YEE

Richard is an award-winning Writer, Director and Producer. He co-created and wrote 2 series of the comedy drama SICK OF IT (Sky One) with Karl Pilkington, was co-creator and lead writer on the Emmy winning comedy HOFF THE RECORD, and was Co-Creator of THE MOANING OF LIFE. Before co-founding Me + You, he set up RiSK Productions with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington, and directed and produced the hit series AN IDIOT ABROAD.

– HEAD OF PRODUCTION –

HSINYI LIU

Prior to joining Me + You Hsinyi worked as Head of Production at Steve Coogan/BBC Studios’ BabyCow and as Production Executive at Sister Pictures managing multiple projects, including the multi BAFTA-winning This Is Going to Hurt. With over 15 years experience in the film and television industry, credits include Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag, A Very English Scandal and People Just Do Nothing. Originally from Taiwan & being bilingual in Mandarin Hsinyi has worked on a number of award-winning Chinese co-productions such as Florian Gallenberger’s German feature City of War about the Nanjing Massacre in China 1937 starring Steve Buscemi, Xiaolu Guo’s She A Chinese (based on her bestseller novel ‘A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers’) and Nick Broomfield’s Ghosts on illegal Chinese immigrants in the UK.

FELIX MALCOLM-STILL

Felix has been at Me + You for six years, working across productions including HOFF THE RECORD, THE DALI AND THE COOPER, SICK OF IT and the BAFTA-winning I AM series. As the company's Development Producer, he works alongside a raft of talent from established award-winning screenwriters to new up-and-coming writers and playwrights. In 2023 Felix was an Assistant Producer on Dominic Savage's feature film CLOSE TO YOU starring Elliot Page.

AMY HARRIS

Before joining the Me+You team, Amy worked across the UK and beyond on a variety of productions, from large studio series to indie Feature Films. Her most recent production credits include Matthew Vaughan’s Argylle, Black Mirror and Rings of Power. On the side, she’s written comedy shorts working with such talent as John Hannah and Perry Fitzpatrick.
